Dr. James L. Price gave himself to the Lord in 1964 in St. Louis, MO. The pastor that led him to salvation was the late Bishop Phillip Lee Scott. Bishop Scott was his pastor and mentor until his death. Under his leadership, Pastor Price learned many valuable life lessons that he continues to pass on to his congregation.
After giving his life to the Lord in St. Louis, Pastor Price met his wife, Georgia Kincaid, and together they have twelve children. In 1987 he was elevated to the office of District Elder. Though he has never put much stock in “titles”, never-the-less, he served in that capacity faithfully and with humility. In August 1992 he was elevated to the office of Bishop during the National Convention of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc, in Chicago, IL. On Novemeber 28, 2010 Bishop Price was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate Degree which was conferred upon him by the Midwest Seminary of Bible Theology for commitment and service in Leadership and Community Outreach.
Dr. James L. Price has pastored this fellowship for thirty-eight years. He has positively touched the lives of countless people. Through the life changing word of God he’s taught, as well as the godly lifestyle he’s lived; he is an example to the flock. The forty-six years he and First Lady Price has been married is proof-positive that marriage can work, it can last, and it is still God’s will and plan for family life.
The Will of God
Pastor Price’s perseverance and determination to do the will of God, serves as a beacon of light to all who follow after. Our Assistant Pastor Minister Georgia M. Price has a dual role here at Lively Stone. She’s the First Lady as well as the Assistant Pastor.
She fulfills many responsibilities…she’s a wife to the pastor, a mother to her own family as well as a spiritual mother to the church. As a matter-of-fact, most of the congregation refers to her as “Mother Price”. She serves as the assistant pastor in the absence of the pastor. In addition, she’s the President of the Lady’s Auxiliary and is very active in keeping the women of our fellowship on the move for the Lord. She sponsors a yearly trip for sisters from various fellowships in the community. She also sponsors a yearly Women’s Conference.
Mother Price is a wonderful assistant pastor in that she knows how to follow leadership. It has been said that, “It’s impossible to be a good leader, if you’re not first a good follower.” Even though her pastor is her husband, she’s careful to set the example for us, by honoring him and obeying leadership. We don’t have to worry about her bringing in any false doctrine in the absence of the pastor, for she too teaches the word of God, rightly divided.
