The Lively Stone Church of God, Inc. was founded in 1967 by the late Elder Joseph B. White. It had it's start in an abandoned house in Neelyville, MO. The small membership then moved to a store front building-still in Neelyville, MO.
Elder White and members began to make plans to build a better place for the members to worship. They purchased a tract of land on which to build. During this time Elder James L. Price moved from St. Louis, MO to Neelyville, MO. Elder Price became the assistant pastor to Elder White. Before the building project could begin; God called Elder White from labor to reward; thus leaving Elder James L. Price as the senior pastor of the Lively Stone Church of God in 1972. Elder Price and the members built that house of worship and worshipped there in Neelyville, MO until that building burned in December 1981.
